What is pressure washing and how does it work?

When cleaning the exterior of your home, your driveway, or even your roof, pressure washing is the most efficient way of getting it done. Pressure washing, or power washing, works by spraying high pressure water on rough surfaces to clean off algae, dirt, mold, and any other stains. A good pressure wash can remove all dirt, stains, and markings while restoring the surface to its original appearance. The machine used to do this is a pressure washer. A pressure washer is a machine built with a motor and a pump. The motor powers the pump to pressurize the water so it is ready to be sprayed. A hose is first hooked up to a water source and then connects to the pressure washer. Then a smaller stronger hose is attached to the pump side and is run to some sort of attachment. Attachments can include a short gun, a long gun, or a surface cleaner. A pressure washing gun has different sized nozzles for different reasons. They range from soft washing tips that spray more water and aim to hit further away targets, to pressurized tips that are for close up work and heavy duty cleaning. A Surface cleaner is a circular encasing over a spinning rod that sprays pressurized water in a circle to cover for surface area. It is best used to clean large surfaces.
